Perhaps I slept funny, but I woke up today with a strong desire to model a tank train! :bulgy-eyes: With that in mind, now I'm hungry to see the tankers on all of your layouts (or work benches). So, have at it! Lets See Your Tankers!
For those with a competitive edge, this week's modeling photo challenge is also Tanks! Submit your photo here: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine...e-quot-Tanks-quot-Ends-Sunday-September-25th.
For this one, tank cars (the kind that transport liquids). However, I have always wanted to see a model version of this:
Nice car Candy. You should be proud! I don't know if you can read the writing on the first tank. It is how I feel about the whole 9/11 situation ............ The next tank is how we back up the comment on the first tank ...................... Now that I know which tank you were interested in, I'll post some more. Carl
These are currently the only two tankers operating on Thunder Ridge. I bet you can't tell the owner's favorite beverage! Perhaps he shouldn't be shipping it in by the tank car!
This is the only Suburban Propane tank car I have. I dream of getting a couple more in the future. View attachment 39671
Here's my contribution... a antique (I think) Jumbo Suburban Propane Tanker that was a bonus in a box of 'junk' I bought off ebay... looks and rolls like new. (Atlas 2347 Surb. Prop. Gas Jumbo Tank <- according to the box insert) Other than this, I have a mixed assortment of the 3 dome style... nothing to write home about.... It doesn't fit my future plans, and from what I've seen this style seems to be somewhat rare... if anyone needs it just drop me a line... it's worth almost nothing to me
Oil company tankcars The single-dome cars are Arnold Rapido. Used individual decal letters for all three cars. Conoco triangle logo from a service station decal. Santa Fe company service tankcar Microscale decals on a Kato car. Koppers cresote tankcar Used HO car-end decals for sides, and made company herald by drawing oversize and reducing on copier. It is a paper glue-on, not a decal. BOX tank Slight mods to side sill and end (arrows) to model this prototype. Microscale made the decals.
If they're available with mountain dew, then there'd better be 4 because 2 will be headed to my place
