    Steam or diesel, the little guys did their share of important work. This tiny 0-4-0 worked an assignment at a PRR-owned tie plant in PA and the li'l diesel is an EMD Model 40, one of only 11 built in the early 1940s.

    Wow, neat, deep in the anthracite fields. I think it's since been removed and donated to a nearby township for cosmetic restoration and display. I don't know of its current status though.

    The REAL scary part was that this was powered by an extension cord that in later years, was pretty frayed-you could see AND hear the shorting against anything it touched!:confused:
