I added brake line along the sides of cars, and end brake cylinder to some that did not have them. I think these are Arnold Rapido and Atlas.

    Scratch Built/Kit Bashed Cement Plant

Here is a link to a thread that I started on another forum which shows some of my cement hoppers and the cement plant that I built on some modules. Somewhere I have some close-ups of some of my hoppers, but while I am looking for them you can view what has already been posted elsewhere. Hope this works....

All you guys inspire me to get off my keoster and get to work.
What is the difference from cement hoppers to grain hoppers? Is it mostly to do with length or is there extra ribbing. I know I am looking for the history lesson from you guys but sure would help. I have a grain elevator where I am sure some of the hoppers I use to service it are actually cement hoppers.

I don't have a cement bulk transfer plant as of yet, but I'm planning one for a future layout expansion. I have about a dozen or so cars to service it, 2 DL&W, 2 LNE and 8 in my home road scheme. Here is a cut of cement cars on the interchange track at St. Anne's, PA.

Here's a string of empty CSX and Ciment Quebec hoppers being pulled from the Penn Valley Cement stub track on the South Street Sub before heading to South Street yard:

from what I see in pictures and videos, Ciment Quebec keeps their hoppers pretty clean, especially when compared with other cement hoppers.

    Needs a good scrubbin

I was gonna say you need to run those through the car wash, but I suppose if you did they would get cemented to the rails!
