Randy, did the Madison Hardware in Detroit have anything to do with the Madison Hardware at 23 West 45th Street in New York City? The NYC Madison was a very large store (to a pre-teen) in the building's basement that was doing a booming Lionel business during the 30's and 40's. I lost track of them after I sold all my Lionel and switched to HO in 47.
