quick question - dry time for latex Liquid Nails on foam? I put down one layer of foam and then load it with heavy book to keep it down. Just want to know how long I should wait until I remove the books and put down next layer of 2" foam

One weird thing I learned, is that the way you put the lines of glue down can actually make a difference in how long it takes... I found this out once when I decided to rip apart a section weeks later that I didn't like the results on. I was amazed to find the glue in the center was just as wet as when I put it down. I think what happened is that I put a bead all the way around the edges thinking that would hold down the area that would get shaved later. That part dried normally, but what it did was seal off all the center area and make it air tight. So no air could get into the center to dry it. So I guess the best way to put the glue down is just in straight lines going one direction to let air in.

I have had the same mess you spoke about, the Liquid Nails not being dry in the inside. I solved the problem by, not putting LN down in STRIPES, just a dot here and there. And also using as thin a layer as possible. I will spread the LN around with a wood scrap to get a nice thin layer.

REMEMBER: Always use LN that is LATEX BASED, it should be NON-FLAMMABLE on the tube.
