Loco1999 goes green and plastic I added some green and some plastic trees and buildings. Feedback wanted. Thanks, Loco1999
Loco1999: The photo's look great . What happened to the "goldenrod trees" The clumps of trees look natural... Add some more ground foam to cover the tree bases.. The weathered bridge girders look quite realistic.. Stay cool and run steam....
Thanks Bob. There are only seven from golden rod. There are 40 plastic ones. I will paint more golden rod trees and decide which plastic ones to plant and which ones to scrap. I still have to do the roads. Loco1999
I certainly can't argue with using the word "wow!" You've really made some excellent progress. I like how the bridge is weathered. And the lighter colored tree in the bottom photo is a great contrast. Keep the pictures coming. Boxcab E50
Looks good! PSG1790 gives a good advice on enhancing the tree's bases. You could consider 'clumping together' any future pine trees (as opposed to having them evenly spaced out) - real forests, the trees clump together because the seeds tend to land close to the mother trees. Would you be willing to post a overview 'helicopter' shot of the whole layout? (just my curiousity). Thx for keeping us posted. Inspiring.
Thanks, I will work on the trees. Ok, don't laugh to hard. I know a engine stall is not an industry and that trees and buildings need to be planted. I have to build some better buildings and trees. Call it experimenting or a work in progress. Loco1999
Yes, those are glue puddles by the spurs. They dried up fine. I will get the roads down and backdrops up. Hopefully sometime this week. Loco1999
I'm impressed by the steady progress you have been making. I remember back when you were trying to figure out the engine servicing area, what a change since then. Congratulations, you've got it looking pretty good. Regards Ed
I see nothing to laugh at.In fact you have given the inspiration to get off of my dead butt and finish my trackplans. My layout will be a bit smaller than yours tho.Just hope it turns looking 1/2 as good as yours
That ground cover is better than anything I have acheived, so now I have something to aim at Excellent work
