JEEZ LUISE - now that’s cool. Really well done John!

The fact that there’s a lot of people, the hustle and bustle of the place, the weathering, the rich colors and the overall vibe gives the entire building and scene an interesting “warmth” about it.

Nah -- I only provided a small portion of the paint for the master artist.(y) You did the heavy lifting here.....:D

Those lights are so small and fit the building beatifully. Too bad we couldn't light them --- BUT sometimes, the daytime version of a scene such as this is all that's needed.

The R-1 is the iconic NYC subway car. The first R-1s were delivered in 1931 and made their final run taking place in 1976, so they fit perfectly on my 1960s layout. I got the R-1s on Shapeways from Mitchell Jetten (SpoorObjecten) https://www.shapeways.com/product/2FL3WJ84M/nyc-r1-subway-1-220

Robert Ray saved the day for me by making the extremely small board signs and even smaller car numbers. Both of which really improve the look of the cars. Thanks Robert!

I need to do a lot of touch up to the front of the cars but that will wait until after the car gates that my friend Russ Kaufman, The N Scale Architect, created for me in etched stainless steel. The cars will be complete after those are installed.

    Enjoy,

    John

    John,
Wow, the cars look fantastic! The board and numbers really do help, and the gate will really bring it up a notch!

They absolutely make the scene. As always you get that look that is always right. I didn’t know what they called but I know they look like they should be there. Very nice!

The NYC Subway R-1s are finally complete with the addition of the safety gates, the side car numbers, front destination boards, side destination boards, and rectangle red and green front lights.

The safety gates were etched for me by my good friend Russ Kaufman, The N Scale Architect https://thenarch.com

The side car number and front destination board decals were made for me by Robert Ray.

The side destination boards are N scale COTS Lube Data Stencil Boxes https://k4decals.com/products/cots-...6&_sid=3b5e2ed1b&_ss=r&variant=41639116832927 by K4 Decals.

The red and white round lights are Glass MicroBead No Hole 0.6mm Nail Art Caviar Marbles Micro Beads on eBay.

The rectangle red and green lights are 1/16” Chartpak graphic tape I got off of Amazon and cut to length.

Thanks to all for helping this project come together!

    Enjoy,

    John

Truly looks like it could be O scale!
So many fine details really makes it look right. Just another thing that makes your layout stand above others. Always enjoy these updates.

Two additions to the upper portion city of my layout.

First is a modified a Tomytec N scale church https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10170035/20/1 bashed to represent the Church of San Salvatore at 359 Broome Street in Manhattan circa 1960s. The church is now home to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Church.

Next to the church is the famous FDNY Engine 55 firehouse. Which was was designed for me by Charlie T. at Z & US Models https://zandusmodels.wordpress.com Thanks Charlie!

    Enjoy,

    John
