Looks like something was sneaking up on us!!! I visited Harald Freudenreich's website yesterday, just to get the web address correct and found something interesting!!! www.fr-model.de/ New Releases of 40' Hi-cube containers. A message from Harald this morning stated these will soon be available in the US. Awesome!!!!!! Harald said they are compatible with Marklin and MCZ/FR containers. Soon AZL will release their containers and NSC 53' well car. I understand the design going into the making of AZL's containers were that they would also be Marklin/MCZ/FR compatible. I am looking so forward in getting some of these containers!!! Hobo Tim
Yep, some more of those 40' plastic smooth side containers with no decals on them are going, going, gone ! AZL should also have some 48' ones coming too. So they fit all those empty places on your existing well cars with too short 20's and 40's .
I have a pile of ribside 40', 20' and 45' containers in the garage. When I mean pile I mean like 200 or so. :tb-wink:
That's the fate of a series manufacturer...if you wait too long it's too late... But there might be still a market because 7+ EUR for a container is quiet a number!
Yeah, well I didn't really have a choice to wait. I'd like to see what AZL comes out with. A 48' smooth side would be wonderful! :tb-biggrin:
Fred, Right now they are not for sale. I made a batch for a Container Ship and Intermodal Yard. I was thinking about making another batch if there were enough people were interested.
Eddie- I'd have to see what lines you might make. Also would like to follow your construction of container ship. I just got a couple of hundred of the flat boxes.
That's a beauty! Who makes that Tug? I think there is enough interest in ships here I will make a few posts on the progress of my Grain Ship & Container Ship in Z scale. As far as the container names... I can make them all.
Who is Joe? For me who is rather uninvited in the american z-world - who is Joe? Those tugs looks amazing and they'd be an amazing boat to have in my harbour. Petter
I thought everybody new Joe D'Amato! They are nice tugs right out of the box and fun to decorate and bash. Petter--Your are more than "invited" in the American Z world. Welcome aboard. Please post pictures of your harbor. We all can learn from others. Fred
What are they made of? Eddie What are your containers made of? Plastic Injection? RP Acrylic? Cast Resin? It does have detail!!!! Hobo Tim
Thread Hi-Jacked! Ok guyZ! You all are committing a crime of Hi-Jacking a thread. Fred, start a new message thread about that fabulous Tug!!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, bear with me for one more infraction on your stolen thread. Guys, those tugs are available from MTL. Contact me and I'll secure you all the cute little boats you want. ljsnyder@charter.net
No problem Loren! I've seen threads get hi-jacked before. If I mention something or have several people comment on an item that is not consistent with the thread I am messaging in, I take it upon myself to start another thread about the item or topic of interest. It is that same fact as to why the N scale groups forum is so full of different topics. Each person starts their own message threads with new topics instead of commenting on another. The only thread to be open to this in our Z group would be What is on your Workbench? Bring on the Tug's and Bring on the GE 44 tonners!!!!! Eddie, what are your containers made of! Hobo Tim
