Hello, I'm trying to find out if there is anyone who has modelled the Washington, D.C. Metro? I grew up in Maryland and used to ride the system a lot. I noticed that when sold out, Walthers will discontinue their HO Metro cars. I was wondering if anyone has purchased them and has comments on how they look and operate? I was thinking of getting a few. Thanks for your help.
I came within a shade of buying some from Walthers. They probably would have been out of stock anyway. I wanted to model the underground stations underneath my layout. That project got pushed to the back burner and now is dead as the cars are now hard to find. My only gripe was that the cars seemed to ride too high off the rails. The trucks are crude and needs that extra space for clearance. Good luck on your project.
Walthers has in fact said that they will Not discontinue the Metro cars due to the popularity of these and the SF BART Cars
