Dave H., thank you for offering help. Let me start by saying:
    1. I think I'm just not using the correct procedure,
    2. I am able to jury-rig around it and
    3. I don't want to waste your time - Staff has been terrific and given me hours of help learning to upload and post images during the last few days.

My current problem isn't uploading - that seems to be working for me now. The problem is posting those nice big 640 X 427 images - going back and forth between TB and RI, I'm losing whatever I'd typed into the Post Replay box. And I'm not able to return reliably from RI to the box.

The process I thought I'd figured out (with a lot of help) to post an uploaded image was: open TB and click on Post Reply or Quick Reply, put in a title, type some description, leave and click on RI, click on My Photos, select and click once on a thumbnail, click Properties on the resulting big image, highlight and copy the URL, then click Back arrow 3 times to get back from RI to the TB Reply box which I initiated to start. Use the postcard icon to insert image, Ctrl V, adjust the pasted URL as necessary, click Okay to get the image. Finish typing, then repeat for other images - i.e, go back and click on RI again, My Photos again, the next thumbnail, Properties, copy this next URL, click the Back arrow 3 times to get back to the Post Reply that I"m building, postcard, etc.

But I'm "getting lost" or can't get out of RI. I'm fiinding that 3 clicks back no longer is returning me to the TB Post Reply. AND IF IT DOES, the description text has disappeared from it's Post Reply window. The Reply Title I entered is still there, but whatever Description I entered (before going to RI for the URL) is gone. Okay, so Lesson #1 seemed to be: don't type in any description until I return from RI with the copied URL.

Lesson #1 worked when I had only 1 image to post. But if multiples, I found that going back to RI for the next image's URL, then returning (if able to find my way back to the TB Reply page) and inserting with the 'postcard' would cause the 1st (prior) URL to either duplicate or disappear - I wasn't able to add a 2nd or keep the 1st URL and image. Experimenting, I learned to go to RI for URLs only once - copy the 1st and pencil out the other images' URLs. A pain in the neck, entering into postcards a 2nd, 3rd, etc. URL, but it worked. Lesson #2: transport multiple URLs by pencil, not Ctrl C and Ctrl V.

Challenge: is there a simpler way to get back-and-forth between TB and RI when moving URLs around - and not get lost trying to find the Post Reply window I had started to type into?

Again, Gents, I've enjoyed more than my fair share of your time and resource this week. I appreciate that greatly, but I'll understand that you have other people to help - and layouts to work on. Thank you!

    Scott:
Trying to compose a reply and simultaneously pull up the URL to insert into the body of your post is a frequently frustrating photo phenomenon! As you have found, there are several ways to handle it.

If I am going to insert just 1 URL into a post, I go to Railimages and copy the URL before I open the Compose a Reply window. Once I'm composing my reply I type the the Start Image code, [IMG].

If I am going to insert multiple URLs, then I open a separate window to Railimages so I can click back and forth between the Compose a Reply window and the Railimages albums/pics I want to insert.

Sometimes I'll compose in MS Word in one window and search Railimages in another window...and then when I'm done I can save the entire post on my computer for future use, if I want. Or sometimes I'll just copy the Word document, open a Compose a Reply window and Control V paste the document into the reply. After I've posted the reply and seen that it's the way I want it, I can dump the Word document if I don't want to save it.

Please don't feel you are taking too much staff time...when we respond to you here in the Support forum, your questions will help any of the other 10,000 TB members who could find this thread and benefit from finding the questions and replies here.

Thanks for your informative posts and beautiful pictures.

Scott, I do what Dave has said. If I am going to post multiple images, I get the "difference" in the URL between the first one and the rest, write them down, then when I post the images, I copy the first URL each time, then alter the address to include the others.
Let's say I have three photos, all with the same [http;//www. etc etc. layout1.jpg]
(Errors typed are on purpose) and I have two other photos named "layout2.jpg" and "layout3.jpg". I copy the first URL three times, then edit the jpg names, and voila, all three different images appear in the message.
The key is to go to RI BEFORE you type your message, as Dave has suggested.

Dave, thank you - that all makes sense, and I'll start practicing it. I'm a little leery about writing and pasting a word document. Earlier in the week, I tried it and got an error response, but I probably messed up. I'll do what you do in your first example - get my URL before I type description.

Yes, Jim - that's what I did last try, and it worked just fine. And because image names are probably pretty similar, it's really not a pain to revise the last URL aftere Ctrl-Ving it again. I'm gonna try Dave's two-screen, but I know I can use 'pencil transport' to manage multiple URLs.

    Thank you for your help!
