not sure this is the same, but how ironic that GE makes this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erie_Shores_Wind_Farm interesting also.. http://www.oge.com/es/wp/how-turbines-work.asp there are several windfarms located here in central illinois, and several new ones are being constructed near Normal, IL. the goods yard there is long enough to accomodate these long trains for unloading to trucks for shipment to site.
We are getting some windmill parts from over sea's. I do know that some one is manufacturing them in the USA though. There will be more of the windmill trains headed towards Bloomington soon. Have fun with those Ed. The most amazing thing to see are the blades.
There is some windmils up in the mountains that we can see from the house has anyone been able to touch them i did they are realy realy BIG
From GE Energy's website Major Locations * Atlanta, Georgia * Belfort, France * Florence, Italy * Greenville, South Carolina * Houston, Texas * Kjeller, Norway * Lachine, Quebec * Melbourne, Florida * Pensacola, Florida * Salzbergen, Germany * San Jose, California * Schenectady, New York * Tehachapi, California * Veresegyhaz, Hungary * Wilmington, North Carolina
Recently, I have seen a couple of flatbed trucks transporting windmill blades. They were loaded two to a trailer and I estimate that each was about 60 ft long.
Just so you know the bell on those new engines are "electric bells"... It is just a speaker with a recording on the engine of a bell. I dont know if you have them in your area, but alot of the crossing gates up here have a speaker instead of a mechanical bell.
up in laflin they replaced the crossing with electric bells i dont think the ones on trains are speakers
Yes the new engines have electronic bells with speakers. I know that the late issued dash 9's have electronic bells and I am thinking the GEVO's are the same way. Electronic bells dont get froze up in the winter we are told. It also helps with the event recorders when something happens it shows that the bell was on or off.
ES40DC ns doesnt have AC power exept for conrails old ACs you can tell the diffrance by the front the moter and the horn and also the raidiator in the rear it is much bigger than the -9s the front looks diffrent to me than the -9s
