A long time ago, MKT had a subdivison than ran from Everman tx to Waco tx that was east of I-35. What was the name of it and when did they abandon it? And my dad said they also had some trackage between some little farm towns like Penelope and Dawson and i think Hubbard and Maypearl. I can see some bridges and roadbed. but i dont know where the start and end at.

Speaking of abandoned subs, etc. At one time, didn't the Katy have a subsidiary company named Beaver, Meade & Englewood? A dusty line out into western Oklahoma or near to that area?

I'll check it out. The one sub that ran from Everman to Waco runs through the east part of Burleson where our party pad is located. We have gone mudding and 4 wheeling all over the right of way and dove hunted and drank alot of beer on it and got stuck on it and about 8 years ago, even put a 6 wire barb wire fence on it. Even the guy that runs cattle on the propety next to it even used to run trains down it. Does any ole Katy boys remeber Jake's laws?? [IMG]

    MP254,

He can probably answer your question.

There was also a Ghost Train over at Waco that people would hear the steam whistle blowing, but the tracks had been removed years before that! Strange. ????
