Thanks for all the great replies everyone. It keeps me inspired to do the work and share it here. I spent this weekend doing a lot of sculpting and painting to get the scenery 'blended' with the old stuff. Here are thew first two trains to ply the new area. G.N. is buying rock from the quarry, so the deal says they have to provide some power. So they send these geeps led by M.C.o.W. Ry GP-9 #1755 with an train of empties for the job. You can compare this shot to earlier ones in this thread for the progress. Here is M.C.o.W. GP-30 #822 leading two CNW commuter service F's with a string of sand cars(ore-jennies) that will be set out at Dachshundville. The same train but at a better angle to see the scenery comparison. Still a lot to do......... Happy Modeling!! Johnny
I see that a boxcar the unfortunate mishap of going over although it is now getting to know nature really well... great detail. Cheers,
I don't have much to show on the layout just yet. I'm still doing the track work. I've also been caught up in the programming of the locos, I added beacons to my SD60s already and the C44-9W is next. Below is a photo for you to see the C&NW fleet so far. I have four others on the way, I'll post the pics when they get here.
LOL! That's my AC-12, it along as well as the sister unit have quite a bit of work left on them to be done before they can de fitted anywhere. It's kind of frightening but I have so many projects to do that I don't know if I'll be able to complete them all by myself. How is it with you? verse
Yeh, didn't the CNW paint a restored SP AC-12 for the 'Golden' anniversary??(right after the CNW absorbed the SP) ;-)) I wish...... I know what you mean about all the projects, but it's fun trying and it does give us some variety!! And those are some awesome looking CNW units Verse, kepp 'em coming!! And speaking of projects, the lady pulling my project American Freedom Train..... Happy Modeling, Johnny

Johnny - those shots from Dachshundville are seriously some of the best model railroad scenes/photos I have ever seen. The first shot showing the elevator is positively fantastic!
Thanks Tim, The one thing that I love about that diorama is the amount of different shots(views) it affords. And it's just a good spot to railfan! All of these were shot on the Dachshundville diorama that measures 2 feet deep and 4 feet long. Glad you enjoy them!! Happy Modeling, Johnny
Whoa, that's awesome modeling!!!! FANTSTIC rocks, man; straight-up superb! I love how you did it without rock molds and plaster! Check the CNW tunnel motor! Looks great in Falcon Service livery! Very nice detailing! The wrecked boxcar is a sweet little detail. The tree growing out the door is classic!
Thanks Hemi!! The six-axle power was all sold off. Getting ready to strip the four axles down to re-paint into the MadCoW scheme. I miss the tunnel motor, but it was a fun 'fantasy' engine to do. Johnny
I noticed that itty-bitty yellow & gray diesel on the right of the photo- did you leave an HO engine out in the rain??
Now Bob, Why you think that? Those Yellow and Green colors don't RUN!!! Maybe the GREEN was just in the SHADE!!! LOL!!! Johnny
Speaking of fantasy engines(SD40T-2), Here's another one I just HAD to see. NO the Northwestern didn't have any E's that had B's. I'm planning on an E-8 A-B-A set. If I ever get to it. Johnny
