Well, I did it! Set A, set B (ph-IV), MHC 2-pack, P42 (ph-IV) and P42 (ph III). One heck of a one-time purchase at 312.00 ! But, like many realeases, I did not want to risk the sellout prior to the actual release It seems possible to me that the casual hobby-shoppers will never even see these. What do you think? Russ
What about the cars Russ? My order as it stands now is: P42 Ph. 4 set P42 Ph. 3 single (set split up between my self and a friend) 8 Ph. 4 Superliner cars 2 material handling cars 6 Deluxe Amtk Road railers when they come out... We might end up splitting another 4 pack of the superliners.....just have to wait and see!! Although I'm saving money for a truck, this is one train that just can't be passed up!!
Right Craig, mine includes 8 superliners (set A and set B in phase 4), 2 locos total (one in each scheme), set of 2 MHC's and I've had one roadrailer on order for a few months...probably get more at some point Russ
I'm in too! Phase 4 set of P42s, and an A&B set of phase 4 cars. Didn't purchase the M/H cars cause I have a set of Con-Cor ones that will have to do. Lots of money but hopefully well worth it. I need to reserve the roadrailers soon but I will wait till there is a release date so I know when to hold up the next bank. Bryan
I reserved my Amtrak order at 4nscale (rio Grande) last week. I have never reserved anything before. How likely is it that I will NOT get my order? Ski
I have reserved the 4 Phase 4 loco's with Rio Grande Hobbies. Mark tells me that he usually fills 99% + of all reservations, and on a first come basis. Having reserved last week, as I did, you should be in an excellent position to receive your order. IMO Bill
I also have reserved a set of engines Phase IV and two coach sets and the MHE set. I used Tex-n-rails and have done in the past for the SD90s, Snoots and SD40-2s. I have always received everything I have ordered/reserved. I think the reservation system is a great idea and applaud the retailers for doing so.
I too have had great luck with reserving items, with either N-Scale Supply or with The Freight Yard. I am glad to see that these things are finally coming. I have had a reservation in for the engines since KATO came out with their poster, so long ago. 2 Phase 4 engines 2 Phase 3 engines(1 for me and 1 for Craig) 2 Phase 4 car sets(A&B) 4 Phase 3 MHC(A&B) 6 Deluxe Roadrailers
I am not sure how the passenger equipment will fit into the freight trains that will run on my layout (no passenger stations), but made the purchase for one set of two phase III engines, both sets of phase III cars, and one set of MHC-2 cars. My wife said I need to add a station in town. The bad thing about that is it will foul traffic on the mainline (no siding). I saw people mentioning the Deluxe Innovation Amtrak Road Railers. Any information when these will be released, and in what packaging (two packs, six packs, ten packs)? I can't wait for these things to arrive....
Consider this ... There has been a major wreck on the passenger District, so all passenger traffic must be re-routed over the freight District. Any passengers for towns that are bypassed will be bussed to their destinations. If you want something bad enough, you can always come up with some rationalization that will cause your Chief Financial Officer to throw up her hands and say "Oh, I guess it's OK ... if you really, really want it that badly ..."
I like that idea. I could put in a temporary bus stop in a nearby parking lot to assist the ease of transporting the people.
I have ave been told two things about their release. One story was 90 days from a few weeks ago, the other was they will be released at the same time as Kato's Amtrak stuff....So who knows what line to believe. I have seen shops posting that they will be released in a single, a three and a six pack. I hope that helps...... [ 24 January 2002: Message edited by: SknarfWl ]
