I finally received my issue of Ztrack magazine. Another great issue. What made it special its the last page. With all the repaints of the GP35 from Robert, Adam, and David. That reminds me how much fun it was to repaint my own GP35. With the release of the SD70, I didn't plan to repaint it, but I am not so sure anymore. I sure dont want to cry when Robert is running his SD60M. Also, AZL is not going to release the SD70M in YN2 scheme, which is my favorite. Maybe its not time to put away the airbrush yet.
I got mine too! Great issue Rob. I would also say great work to our memebers here on the board that gave pictures of their redone/repainted GP 35's. David, Robert, John, great work. I hope I didn't miss anyone. It was great to see contributions by our memebers!
I am so glad you guys liked the last issue and the GP35 page. I personally think the GP35 repaint page is one of the more impressive pieces we have printed. It is amazing to see the work you guys and others are doing. If I receive enough photos, I may run a followup page. Of course, I could run a SD70 repaint page! Rob
Rob, currently I have 3 repainted geeps. Two of them are CSX, and one is a BN. So far the only one that's not being strip is UP, but it's just matter of time. The repaint of the SD70 will have to wait for our chief repaint engineer Robert to do all the research on how to take the engine apart. After that its just matter of time before all repaint jobs start rolling.
My CSX GP35 Pics Hey Rob, Just got my CSX done and would love to have it in the next issue of Ztrack if you get enough responses. I'm a subscriber and need to know what is needed to have this in an issue. Before anyone says anything I know the numbers aren't prototypically correct, but put 1980 on there since it's the year I was born. Even made my own custom 1980 number boards for the front and back and they turned out pretty good. Hope we could maybe see some undecorated SD70's so I could paint one in the CSX New Image paint scheme or I could maybe do a #700 so I could do a Spirit of Cumberland SD70. My next project is 17 undecorated Penzee hoppers. Thanks Phil for the 4 Chessie's you sold me, this is at least a start for me.
Hey Joe, its great to see another guy running CSX. Rob also runs CSX trains. At first I though it was one of my engines. Great job on the repaint. Maybe we can our trains together one of this days.
I received my copy out here in the "West of Australia" yesterday (Monday) and would like to add my "well done" for both the contributors to, and to the back page itself. I was kind of hoping my issue might have two lumps in the form of a coupe of UP SD 70's inside, but alas twas not the case, I'll just have to wait a bit longer.
Joe, Great job! I also thought I was looking at one of John's CSX repaints. Yes, I am a CSX fan as well. Though I am a general Z fan, East coast names are my preference. As for the SD70s, AZL is not planning on offering undecs. I have been recommending that you go with the NS since the black base will be a great start. I just wish I could have crammed those UP SD70s in the Ztrack envelope! Rob
Thanks John, I saw those. Also just completed my Chessie caboose yesterday. A lot easier than the CSX loco.
Nice Joe. I also repainted the MTL caboose, except that my caboose is in the grey and yellow scheme. I am searching for the appropriate decals for it. I really hate the thumnails. I wish we could have the old format back.

Did something change with posting pictures? Test: Ah! Still works good! Don't you just love Torpedo Tube GP's?
Joe, Great caboose! I know where one of these is sitting in NW Ohio. Robert, one of our contributing editors is writing an article on how he added Torpedo tubes to his GP35. He is going with a CNW version. He found drawings in an older issue of MR and has scaled them down to Z for a template for the piping. Rob
