Would anyone have suggestions for the settings to implement a MARS light. Decoder is Digitrax DZ143, using a 1.5 v incandescent bulb, and programming via Decoder Pro3. Tried, but just can't seem to get anything that seems correct.

With DecoderPro I haven't had much luck with the light menu, so I program thE raw CVs using values I get from Digitrax's Mobile Decoder Manual.

I can help you figure out what to program into what CV if you can tell me:
What wire you'll be using to hook up the Mars light.
What kind of control you want (e.g., on when locomotive is moving forward, on when you hit 'F3', etc.)

That will get us started at least.

thanks for the offer of help-
I have it wired to the violet wire right now-I can change it to the green if need be
I'd like to have it on in forward and enabled with F1 ( it's an F7 loco dual headlight)
The kicker is I got the motor leads backwards so I had to change the NDT to reverse, which is where I got turned all around.
I remapped the violet wire (normally F2) to F1--needed to do that when I found out the hard way that F2 was momentary. Right now it only works in reverse, which turns off headlight.

    Doug,

I am no expert, by a long shot, but sounds to me that the goof caused you to run in reverse which I believe would turn off head light. Can't you flop the motor wiring around so the decoder and motor are working in the same direction ?

I'm gonna start over and see where that leads. Not a lot of room in the legacy Kato F7 using a wired decoder but I believe there is room for a cut and splice and shrink tube on the motor leads. They are already trimmed for the install.
