There was a photo on the start up page showing someone's Marx 999 with a Lionel tender and a caboose. I can't find the author by searching, but it sure brought back memories of my childhood. We couldn't afford Lionel, so got Marx. Every Christmas I got new cars, track and stuff. Trying to make my Marx engine look like Lionel, with the help of a REAL model railroader and his machine shop, I installed classification lights on my 999 and a whistle, too. Sure would like to know where that old engine is today..:(

It would be interesting to have those childhood trains again. *Sigh*

Never had electric trains as a kid but got into HO scale as a teen. Now at nearly fifty I finally get to play with the old elctric trains y'all had as children! LOL
