Using MDC knuckle couplers, I have continual unwanted uncoupling. I've written to MDC and they have graciously sent me suggestions, new couplers and new truck frames. I've followed their suggestions but still have the uncoupling problem. I've installed MT body mounts to several but I would like to operate some of my refers as a unit which would make MT's unnecessary.

I forgot to ask my question!!! Has anybody had any luck with these? How did you do it?

MDC couplers. Bottom line. Look good. Don't work very good. Despite their moniker, Mighty Darn Compatible, they aren't.

While they cost a lot more you'll save yourself a lot of pain by converting to MT's.

I have to agree with the above. I convert all my trucks/couplers to Microtrains. Nothing works as well. They may cost more, but the reliability is well worth it.

If you want non operating knuckle couplers, you might want to try Unimate knuckle couplers by Red Caboose. I have used the in the past with great success. They don't look too bad either.

As I've said, I have body-mounted MT's on some of my refers. I also have Unimates from long ago but they don't fit in the MDC express truck. I was hoping for a quick cure but I guess it doesn't exist, so... more MT's in the budget!

    Thanks for all the input.
