    MicroAce has been making diesels and Electrics for years. They run just as well as their steam loco's.

    IIRC, Micro-Ace either sells or sold the Life-Like SD7/9s in Japan.

    MicroAce distributes some of the LifeLike trainset-quality locomotives in Japan. I don't know if any of the quasi-Proto2000 locos or the new releases with split frames have been imported by MicroAce. MicroAce shares producers with a number of US companies.

    In 1997 I saw in a few hobby shops in Japan SD7s and E8s in Micro Ace Packaging. I have just got home from a three week holiday in Japan and hit about 8 hobby shops in Tokyo on the weekend and saw a lot of beautifully detailed and priced Micro Ace Japanese prototype, but no rebranded Life Like so they may have stopped the practice.
