The Milw. Rd purchased 2 DL 109's, 14a and 14b. Did the locomotives ever run as single units in either freight or passenger service. I understand that they ran nose to tail for awhile, yes/no? Thanks, George
I can almost bet that they ran on some of the smaller name trains like the Varsity and the Northwoods as single units. I've seen pic's in books that have them lashed up together with the E-unit's too.
I've never seen photos. But would agree that it's possible they ran as singles. They were on the roster a long time. And were off the main line passenger trains. Freight use? Possible. But seems doubtful. Boxcab E50
Everything that I have read on them said that they ran south of Chicago through Indiana. Once and a while they would come north, but if they ran separate?????
