Damn, I was watching my post count, and forgot that every time you load a photo it counts, so I missed my 5,280th post, for which I was going to celebrate my MILE post out on the main board. Oh well, such is life. :tb-sad:
I've blown most of them--just don't notice any longer, and never really knew what counted and what didn't. We used to go up and down a lot, as various backups were made. So I really lost count long ago.
Tell me about it. I've made about 70,000 posts total. Last "upgrade" I lost almost 10K. Another time I lost over 11K. Hey Jim- Want me to delete a few, and you can try again? Boxcab E50
It's all in fun I'm sure we can find 11 posts we can purge to get you back to 5279... :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd: :tb-nerd:
I can't make that adjustment (don't have that access) but I believe Ken can... :tb-wink: :tb-wink: :tb-wink: :tb-wink:
Well, I've been looking for my magic wand. Last time I tried it on myself, it didn't seem to work. I think it's busted or worn out.... Boxcab E50
Don't feel bad- I hit 10,000 posts a few years ago, and then a bunch of old posts got purged, and ZIP! Back below 9000 I went. Oh well, it's not the number of posts made that count more than the fun had here.
I think I went by 4000 posts a couple of times, but I am not that concerned. If getting rid of old Cattle Car topics like what's your favorite sugary kids breakfast cereal can free up some server space for some of the more on topic stuff around here I am all for it.
Hmmm. Guess I'm out of the loop, and would need to be a present day parent to know about these. I've only seen a few excerpts and thought I'd rather watch old Bugs Bunny cartoons. Which doesn't sound bad right now.... Boxcab E50
Daigon Alley was a magical street where wizards and witches could buy supplies, trade, and such. Harry Potter had to pay a few visits to get school supplies for Hogwarts. I have seen all the movies so far, and read the last 3 books. JK Rowling is an amazing author. If you don't watch the films, read the books. Book 6 and 7 are very highly recommended, but reading them in order is best to not get lost in the chronological puzzle.
Starting with book 1 you may get the impression that her writing is a little unsophisticated but it gets better as you go. Rowling improved as a writer over the series. We've had a lot of fun with this series, and every time a new book was released we made bank at our bookstore, but I am also happy watching old Bugs Bunny cartoons. Lately, I have mostly been watching Pentrex videos and classic films like "A Man for All Seasons" (the 1966 version with Paul Scofield, John Hurt, Leo McKern, and Robert Shaw), "Paint your Wagon," and old Charlie Chaplin shorts.
My kids started reading the books when they first came out even though they were already a little old for them. They even got me to read the series from the get go. It had a train in it. When I helped chaperon a high school theater group to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2002, we took a special charter train from Kings Cross station in London. Of course everyone was looking for platform 9 and 3/4. At a book store in Edinburgh I found a UK edition of one of the books and it had a jacket photo of N&W J class 611 pulling a passenger train. Not exactly the Hogwarts Special but I though it looked just fine.
