I THINK ALOT OF US STARTED WITH THE CHEAP "MODEL POWER" CARS THAT WERE MADE IN HONG KONG. THE QUALITY WAS NOT THAT GOOD BUT WHEN ONE WEATHERS THEM AND CHANGES THE TRUCKS TO MICRO TRAINS THEY LOOK PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE TWO OF TH&B, SAME ROAD NUMBER #3009. NOW MY PROBLEM IS I NEED MORE, LOTS MORE. PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR JUNK BINS ANS SEE IF YOU HAVE ONE. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING SOME MORE-CHEAP. THEY DON'T NEED TO HAVE ANY TRUCKS ON THEM. Jerry, Jerry, Jerry....Probably at one time or another a lot of us have tried to go the way you are, in aquiring rolling stock...CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP! You'll discover the problems of doing this when you try to put MT truck sets or MT body mount couplers on some of those cheap cars. I've always found that if the price is too good to be true, it probably is and if you only want to pay peanuts then you're only going to get monkeys.
I only want TH&B's. I have two already and I did not have any problems putting the M/T trucks on them. I got rid of all my other model power units, I only kept the TH&B's. I only buy good stuff, like M/T's. It's just that I can't find any other Th&B's by other makers or M/T's.
