Well, not yet. But, if model railroading were an Olympic event and you were a judge, what would be the qualifications to win the Gold? Maybe we can use this to examine some of the finer points of the hobby and some things that are not normally considered. Maybe there are some details that you have agonized over that others haven't thought of - things that you would look for if you were judging someone else. ------------------ Ship It On The FRISCO! | IAMOKA.com [This message has been edited by E-8 (edited 22 September 2000).]
I think there would be a lot of events, and a seperate division for each scale, further divided into prototype and free-lanced. Best loco (steam and diesel), best freight car, best passenger car, best structure, best layout design... you get the point, I could type all night. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
First thought: HO Gauge- 1. Engine has to run half throttle power. 2. Must stay on rails more than 6 inches distance on 60" radius curve, 24" on straight, and reverse for 6" without having to jiggle by hand. 3. Must not burn up when power is applied. 4. Paint must not fall off in Judge's hand. 5. Must look like a train with one eye closed. (Got to be bed time) ------------------ Watash
