Hello everyone, Does anyone make HO scale Ski Train decals for the F40PH units? I'd really like to model a few of them. Thank you for any help in advance.
For the front logo you could use the microscale ski train decals. If you have a photoshop program, eg paint shop pro, you can create your black decals an print them on transpirant decal paper. There are a lot good ski train loco pics in the internet, which can be used to 'copy' the logo from.
I found a source where they can be custom made for you. ELS TRAINS elstrains@mindspring.com I asked about getting some done and the cost was 25 bucks for the artwork and 10 bucks for each decal sheet. One sheet will do 2 locos. Not cheap, But you only have to buy them once to do do a model. The cost wasn't a real issue. The hard part was finding 3 undecorated Kato F40PH's to do the project. Amtrak and a couple of others are all that they sell. No undecs. I would have to buy 3 Amtrak locos and 3 undec shells. I would like to have some of these, but have scrapped the project for now. Got to get my layout and modules going. I am currently working on getting the garage remodeled and organized to hold the layout. I got stuff everywhere it seems.
