A BNSF double stack train cautiously decends the winding three percent grade. Whilst a piggyback train struggles upgrade UP locomotives on the ready track at Andersley Locomotive Depot
those would be incredible picks, if the cars and engines were weathered. (then again, it's freelanced) But the pictures really shout"TRAIN!!"
I AM SHOCKED!!!!!!!!! NO ALAN CURTIS PIGGYBACKS???????? come on Alan you know we wanted to see them in your intermodal train.But all kidding aside looks great.And I see that you are like me all engines are just freshly painted or repainted.I like em like that.
oif that were my layout Id repaint ALL of those BN and SF and BNSF units into A&A blue and white (with a some weathering) ;
Thanks fellas, eventuallyall the locomotives and cars will be weathered and the locomotives fully detailed (need to find the time). But for the present I am concentrating on getting the layout 'finished' There were some spine cars and 89 footers in the piggyback train behind the SD40-2's, you just could not see them Just wait until I do some double stack well cars
Alan, Have you ever thought about how many cars and locos you have and how long it is going to take to weather them all? Of course once you start, you'll want to finish because the unweathered units will look out of place nexted to the weathered units. I usually lightly weather because it just looks better to me that way. But the when I go out to the Rochelle Railroad Park to watch some trains mosts cars are heavily weathered. Weathering on locos vary widely, although as a rule, the UP keeps them cleaner than the BNSF. Daryl
Excellent picture Alan, there certainly is a great deal of rollingstock to weather. I'm in a similar situation where I need to start weathering all my rollingstock. I suppose we will always have something to do but isn't that one of the great advantages of our hobby?

I'm currently aquiring Walthers TTX cars, but I believe the Union Pacific: Neches Branch will have to upgrade as soon as the new items become available! Besides I owe you! Scot
Just wait until I do some double stack well cars [/QB][/QUOTE] When Alan when......these are by far my favorite intermodal car. I am going to have to go railfanning to see some flats. I guess I never noticed them. Will the well cars be RTR like your spine cars? Well Cars...........Well Cars.......Well Cars.
I have just finished a stone retaining wall, and the locomotive area, so I will probably take some more pics tomorrow
