The loco is a Scout, plastic clamshell motor, garbage when new, no change with age. It is clean, but for what it is, the asking is ridiculous. Opinion.
Always. EvilBait rule 44G. Allows the sellers to separate engines and tenders (as they were all delivered) and sell as "original" separately for more PROFIT! You didn't know? You will find a lot of listings where the cost of shipping exceeds know value....and you'll get folks who are blind as it gets who bid through the roof (to WIN!) stuff that has such bad zamac rot it needs a new frame, drivers, gears, pilot, lead and trail wheels......and no tender....and they end up paying three times what a nice one (with a tender) would cost, plus two hundred bucks to buy replacement wheels, frame....paint...then they get to pay someone to put the parts in...and it is a HOOT!
The one I laugh about is when I see someone who lists a "caboose car". Yes. It is a car. But caboose is self descriptive. Same as gondola, hopper....
This one ended with a no-sale starting bid (reserve) of $50. Now it's been re-listed, same POS, for a starting bid of $40. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-PRE...946940?hash=item1a0c9082bc:g:RaUAAOSwfZ1WX36O
http://www.ebay.com/itm/All-Nation-...579022?hash=item3aba697e8e:g:ARkAAOSwnipWX6bM Outside third. Maybe All-Nation, maybe G-M, but it's outside third...and is it insulated for 2-rail? Last G-M Mountain I bought was twenty bucks, and it's 2-rail. Since A-N bought out G-M in 1949, maybe 1950, kind of hard for it to be pre-war. I see one (chopped) wire out the back of the loco, not multiple, which means, with no hand-reverse shown, there is no selenium bridge rectumfrier in the tender, so most likely permag motor and not universal field wound, so that makes it 50's. BIN at 300, no bidding, at least double the value. If not three times. Opinion

A photo of a photo of folks holding SF F units...but no other photos, no description of road (catalog) number, condition.... ALMOST like somebody found a photo on-line, copied it, and are trying to sell something that...maybe they don't have? Opinion. Oh, and he has more....just click on more from this seller...all of them photos of photos...Mike Fredrickson in the name on at least one. Say's that person is in Fox Lake....in Wisconsin, quite a distance from Pell Lake to Fox Lake. But, not quite so far to Fox Lake Illinois....so what's going on? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Trains-O-Gauge-/221999914059?hash=item33b039dc4b:g:H-cAAOSwUV9WnqbM Feedback rating zero.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-O-Ga...551211?hash=item2ca4a0a02b:g:eG4AAOSwsFpWS6uJ About half is old Marx. Certainly not seeing the opening bid (reserve) of 400 here. That 8030 sure looks like the frame is bent of kinked forward of the fuel tank. Maybe he has a "powerseller" camera. Front steps look bent down. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-trai...420679?hash=item2ca8416b87:g:f7oAAOSw~OVWt39Y Maybe the current 152. IF you want to corner the market on elevated trestle parts. The 247 is hurt bad...pilot deck, beam and cowcatcher snapped off. Photos so bad you can't see the condition of the rest of the stuff clearly. Mix of 0 and 027 switches. Grubby engineer's cap. 32 bids so far, so might be a good deal.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Prew...544977?hash=item5427b6cf91:g:hEMAAOSwf-VWYirW Nice. But no way a BIN of $3275.00. Dead mint (which they aren't) with all the boxes, inner and outer, 500?
L@@K!!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Len-Ca...751315?hash=item4d3f41b013:g:9-sAAOSwPc9WuUTC It's a repaint, fer crying out loud. Just because some experts like it, it's a repaint. 125 tops. Opinion.
Weird listing. No idea what issue of engine. Phone number (not smart) shown. If legit, has a lot to learn about selling on that site.
Nice looking lot. At least it's not the usual rust bucket barn find lot, priced at a million dollars.
Rusty old Scout "set" and Marx transformer. $225.00? If at $22.50, still way too much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Lio...695001?hash=item1c60988e99:g:yNkAAOSwzhVWrAdN
