Must be Bachmann's 1st release bershire. LOL http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bachmann-Be...630?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2350119fae
And for that 140 worth of shamolins you get at least three out of the four half axle gear shafts spit and maybe even four. It might run for a while until the wheels go out of quarter due to the split half axles and the drive rods kink out of shape when it finally binds up. Might be the reason it has never been run is because it can't. It's only worth is for the motor and the shell and possibly the tender and not much else. I hate seeing these old pieces of crap show up with an extremely inflated price tag. Even paying twenty dollars for it would be pushing it. And obviously the seller knows squat about trains calling a Northern a Berkshire.
Yet another person taking a wild shot at pocketing cash far beyond any real value. Will there be a willing victim?
Why do I notice most of the hairball offerings come from various locations in some place called New Jersey?
And for a cool grand, from the same seller...http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Arnold-N...320?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item235011f080 Have a feeling this seller got the trains after grandpa died, and thinks they will fund their Ferrari with it
I know there are indeed collectors of this earlier stuff. But I can't think of a scenario I have ever known, where it would even be as much as ten percent, for what the price is here.
Have the same loco, now repainted, and relettered as a logging loco, for which I paid a measly $15 at a show from a estate sale. Just added a Bmann all wheel tender chassis and it runs like a fine Swiss watch.
I'm thinking a lot of these guys know of this thread...and possibly others on other forums. List stuff at a ridiculous price...get posted in the forums. When someone goes to check out the lunacy...they just MIGHT click on other stuff they have for sale. Great FREE advertising ;-)
I'm not thinking that is very likely. Anybody here willing to admit to buying something they first saw ridiculed in this thread? Steve
There's just no way to know what people might do. A quick glance at the world around us today, shows all kinds of goofy ways people think. As the Doors tune went "People Are Strange".
o.k., what am I missing here?............... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-N-Sca...017?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2350571671
How come my pictures turn out like crap ? Say what you will but the photo's are pretty good. I buy a nice expensive Nikon camera and my photo's are crap in comparison....Burns me up ! Randy
No matter what I have tried, my old camera will not take a decent indoor picture. Outdoors, for it's age, they turn out very nicely. But come inside, and forget it. The thing won't cooperate.
Probably the lighting. I use Daylight CFL bulbs in two swing arm lamps. I have a blue poster board background. I have a 1 foot section of ME flex track mounted on a piece of wood. I painted and ballasted the track. A few small bushes round out the scene. Looks O.K. I use my iPhone 5S camera.
