Because..evilbait allows you to claim anything you want to! We ran into this with 0 scale passenger cars once. The moron claimed "Joe Fisher interiors!" yet as far as anybody knows, Joe just custom built passenger cars, not interiors. But, evilbait power scammers can claim anything they want to. Opinion. Dave
One for all the fixer upper types.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Broken-Atlas-track-w-Free-shipping-/311447285665?hash=item4883b46fa1
At least they are honest enough to use "broken" in their description. But such used track, is, well, not something which might seem to sell for much. Or so it we might think?
Apparently they think so. At that price, they believe they can afford it. But at that price, any real interest? Hmmm.
I have a bunch of those....some even work !!!! Atlas C80. PLUS...lots of USED Atlas C80 flex and other C80 items. I wont even charge for them...just pay shipping. I WONT be putting them on EckBay...they will be going on TB swap meet for FREE...just as soon as I get time to get a photo of it all
One wonders what is meant by broken in that listing. Powered turnouts with burnt out switch motors that can still be used as manual turnouts I have no issues with. However like a few of my various manufacturers turnouts I had some that were so bad they decided to change alignment while the consist passed over or other issues that no amount of filing or tweaking could improve their reliability. My choice has always been to not give somebody else my troubles and issues thus circular file #13 becomes the final spot for my crap. One thing with Atlas though is if it is only the switch machine that is gone they do sell replacement switch machines to repower the turnout or power a manual one. So if the cost of the "broken" turnouts is low enough and that is the only issue probably would not be a bad buy for one who intends to repower them.
Someone made a Best Offer and it was accepted. We'll never know what it was sold for. It would not surprise me to see a flip of this into smaller lots by a less scrupulous seller, either online or at a train show.
I think this is the first time that I've seen all the locomotives from a search which should be posted in this thread. I mean, if they were all re-powered with the Atlas 8-40B chassis, then I could believe these prices. But unaltered?
Could the prices be due to their being in an overseas market? Still, seems like those are high even for there.
Imagine the next line spoken by the voiceover artist in the opening of the "Pigs In Space" skit in the original The Muppet Show: "The continuing saga...." http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Southern-...62ce0d4&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=1&sd=181871308182
I thought I would be nice so I sent this to the seller... And meanwhile, what should come along in my "You might also be interested in" but this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-SOU...3e2fb0e&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=1&sd=191693003118
I have Track Me Not, Ad Block Plus, Malware Bytes and Ghostery all running so I don't think it's tracking cookies. Could be some other mal-ad-junk-ware though. The second High Speed listing was presented right on the same page as the first one. I suspect it's more keyword matching; for example if I look at a listing for an AB&C 0-2-0, eBay thinks I might be interested in other 0-2-0s or other AB&C items. This probably isn't good news for sellers with high prices as I might be shown the exact same item at a lower price. This very thing happened when I was casually checking out a recently run loco for $99 plus shipping and was told "I might be interested" in the same exact one for $85 with free shipping.
If you're talking about the HUGE url, it's google's way of linking and tracking what you look at and re-post. Take everything off right of the question mark when you post the link: www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-SOUTHERN-PACIFIC-DUMMY-DIESEL-ENGINE-TANK-CAR-by-HIGH-SPEED-418/231673549821? and it works. Been doing that for a long time. Sort of like the flickr links...you have to know how to find one that works full size. Dave
