    Seriously $89.95 ! I would say at least $10.00 -30.00+ x for shipping.

Ummmm. I bought an empty box for an OMI brass Western Maryland Shay for the Shay I had with no original box.

    Was glad to get it.

    :)

I think there's a big difference between buying an empty box for a brass Shay, and buying an empty box for an entry level train set with questionable running characteristics, for $25.

Maybe not... It could still be touch tone. Rotary is millennial-proof! Not the "touch-tone buttons in the stationary dial ring holes" kind.

I don't think the US still has any operational switches for true rotary phones anymore.

My kids (when they were in grade school) had no clue how to operate my parents' true-rotary phone in the late 90s/early 2000's. My parents were in the NW Ark Ozarks.

Apparently the seller has Relisted this item please see photo No.1 , I see no markings here as to it stating that it is MINITRIX please see photo No.2 . With the Red Gears it has me thinking ATLAS / ROCO with A possible Body swap then I could be incorrect the Link is at the bottom.

As I stated in #10270 post.. Looks Like it's just a CHASSIS without trucks possibly worth $1.00 to $5.00 at the most . If it were a Locomotive it would have a Shell and Trucks. This is simply a FRAME with a motor and worth what I stated.

    This No. Belongs to a CONRAIL GP40 .. Not a ALCO C420 . Please see photo No.34.

At least is Correct for the Model Please see photo 12.

I have that set which I purchased new back ~2007. Very nicely detailed but if you're not into euro stuff I can understand the perceived lack of value. I think I paid $110 at the time.

My goodness, 6 bidders, 24 bids and still underway at $70.21 + Shipping. Description assures only that it “looks pretty clean" and is "in good shape”. No mention if it runs, nor that it's (obviously) missing its handrails. I owned several of these in the '70s and they were fine locomotives for their day, but to pay this much for a sketchy and unboxed 50 year old locomotive leaves me in wonder.

The lister is special, mossenergy-half (from Maryland): "Top Rated Plus, 40k items sold, 100% positive feedback,
957 followers, 215 collectables listed". Sadly, not many N scale items listed. The Trix locomotive sold for $70.21.
    A 2024 eBay success story.

But my question was not about the seller. It was what is so special about an old Trix engine, missing pieces? AT&SF? What...?
