I am trying to lay out just how we want a roundhouse but need some dimensions. What is the diameter of the turntable? What is the spacing between the turntable and the roundhouse itself? We are looking forward to building this, just need a little help. Thank You, Shaun
Are you running any steam? Turntable size is dependent on the maximum length of you locomotive power. The distance from the turntable to the roundhouse is dependent upon the width of each bay at the front (center to center) from that you can work out the angles of the track and the distance to the center of the turntable etc. I would suggest that you look at the various turntables and roundhouses available and you will learn enough to either scratch build it or to figure out how to fit it into your layout.
