... it looked pretty "low tech"... eyeballed!

 

This is a real arse.

 

Here are some interesting photos I took as CSX was recovering from Hurrricane Katrina.

New ties were being unloaded from a 7 car train pulled by this "locomotive".




The tie train from a different angle.




Picking up the old ties. There's nobody in the truck....the crane operator is the only one on the job and he's controlling the truck.




Lastly, two crews welding both ends of a rail inserted as a patch.
