Have you folks had trouble with your MT 89' flats derailing and picking points, even at the rear of the train? Mine is, both of them. Is this common? Is there a good fix? *other than replacing them w/ Alan Curtis 89'ers....*
I don't seem to have any problems with mine, except on a very rare occasion. Then it seems to be when I run them empty and with several cars behind them, which the prototype probably would not even recommend. I think all of them or a certain batch came with low profile wheels, which would increase the chances of derailing if something was not right to start with. They are lighter than Alan's cars, which I've never had any problems with... ever! Russ
Yea, they are not the best tracking cars eever built. I have use weighted trailers or containers which seems to help, although it also makes them top heavy as well. My long range plans include selling them on ebay and switching over to Alan's cars. Daryl
I've had the same problems, so I just dismantled mine and put the trucks and the 1019s onto some of Alan's kits - Much better David Milburn (North Yorkshire)
I have two of them, and they are languishing in a box, minus trucks (which were transferred to some of my cars)
I have about 25 of these cars. Most of the time I have no problems with them. I do have about 4 that have always had problems. Those became donors for parts to finish up a few of Alan' s kits. Brian
