I have been scanning some photos for the committee in charge of NRHS Convention 2005, "Go By Train" to be held in Portland, OR in July. One of the events will feature the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railway, a real experience. They have rod locomotives, Shays, Heisler, Climax and even a Willamette logging locomotive. Here is Climax No. 10 taken a couple of years ago in typical MRSR scenery. Come to the Convention!! [IMG]

Perfect setting! A logging lokey in a lush, green Pacific Northwest forest!

Nice pic too! [IMG] I visited the MRSRR about two years ago and found the people there very friendly .. even got a cab ride and got to pull the throttle during the turn around.
This photo, judging by the hoggers' position in the window tells me that he is backing the train out of the Wye onto the main line. Beautiful country! I intend to go back there soon.
