Does anyone know which Micro-trains couplers will fit the Minitrix Schnabel car? I have it decaled for Westinghouse and would like to put MT's on it.
    Thanks in advance

Ira, cut-n-paste would be my suggestion also. Just look in your junk box, or LHS wall, and see what can be modified without losing its mobility and centering spring. I'd suggest body mount if possible as you'd probably have more room to work with.

The couplers are truck mounted with no room for a body mount coupler. I am considering cleaning out ther coupler box and mounting an MT 1015 or other pre assembled coupler based on the available space.

I've done that often with 1015's replacing the older truck mounted plastic monsters (forgot their name at the moment). Works quite well, just a little finicky twisting and turning the 1015 pocket into place first, followed by the spring and coupler, but very stable once installed. I don't remember needing to cut anything on the truck box for the 1015 pocket to fit.

I use Unimate conversions for most of my Minitrix stuff.

I used the MT 1015 couplers on my Tomix Schnabel Car.

I installed them in the Tomix coupler box and it worked out ok.

I used M/T offset couplers (don't know the P/N), the one on the left in the photo. Requires a little filing of the coupler pocket and a plastic insert for the coupler screw. Haven't found any suitable couplers for the two cabeese that came with the Schnabel car.

PS I was told that these are M/T P/N 2004 for the Schnabel car. I used M/T1124/1128 installed in the removable coupler box on the cabeese by filing the 1104 adapter box paper thin and notching the removable rear panel on the cabeese so that the coupler could swing to either side. Be sure when removing the rear panel the lighting circuit doesn't fall out of the caboose body.
