    I like the Espee Sugar Beet Trains. Pretty old one, I think. Four SD45T-2s pull 100 sugar beet cars. Four helpers halfway back.

    Robert-

    :confused: Do you mean Emperor of the North? The movie starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Keith Carradine, etc? Filmed on the OP&E?

    Good question Hemi. It's hard to narrow down to just one. [IMG] Perhaps the Pentrex Milw trilogy. Maybe the Goodheart Milw 261. There are just too many. :eek:

    :rolleyes:

    I thrive on these videos. I think I have at least one commercial video for every trip I have ridden or chased. This is all Steam, of course. I also have my own, which are getting better as I learn how to do it right. By the time I croak I may be an expert. With all the crap on TV nowadays, I like to pop a steam video in and watch it. Have Pentrex, Goodheart, Mark I, Skyfire and Rich Melvin's company which I can't remember the name. Good stuff. [IMG]

    Gee, so many to choose from.....I have not seen a Pentrex I did not like and the latest addition to my collection Pittsburgh Mainlines is no exception. I love Street Running as it blows everyone away over here in Australia to think that the yanks run trains in the middle of the street and another one about SP snow fighting on Donner Pass where they use a 12guage shottie and det cord to remove ice in tunnels. But I have to say my faves are my own the US stuff I shot on my trips in Sept 2000 and again in Jul/Aug 2004 and the stuff I have shot here

    Yes, that's the one. It was originally called Emperor of the North Pole, but over the years the name was shortened to Emperor of the North over the years.

    A#1, and Old Cigarette are a couple of 'Bo's trying to ride Shack's train to Portland. :D

    I like this movie too. It's a little corny, but has some really good steam action featuring #19, a 1915 2-8-2. I am fortunate enough to be the engineer of this wonderful, historic old locomotive at the Yreka Western RR (*if* we ever get it up and running again! :( ).

    Here's one of my favorites, the DVD version:

    [IMG]

    http://www.pentrex.com/hhsdvd.html

    A whole host of Southern California trains in the steam-diesel transition era, including:

    * Santa Fe Warbonnets
    * Cajon Pass
    * Tehachapi Pass
    * A 90-mile per hour cab ride in a Santa Fe F7
    * An incredible 'Day at Mission Tower' in 1951 - watching trains, steam, and early diesel motive power from Southern Pacific, UP, and Santa Fe entering and leave Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal.

    Emperor of the North is a great one!
    I also LOVE The D&RGW Moffat Route, Battle for Donner Pass, BNSF Tracks of the Goat pt 1, BNSF Spokane to Portland--the Columbia River Route, MILW Trilogy, and (sold on board the UP Steam Crew Sherman HIll car) UP Historical Soc. 3985 DVD. Soon, the 844 version will be on DVD, and I'll be an owner...

    Thanks to our friends at Pentrex, D&RGW DVD is awesome! I have only seen about half of it, but it features a short cab ride thru the Tunnel District, cab ride between West portal and Bond, among others. Tennessee Pass, Moffat Route, are featured here, with footage I have not yet seen. What a great video! Shot in 1986 and earlier, this video is great!

    I have three public relations videos from BN.
    "Portrait of a Railroad" set in the early '70's, "Western Coal Connection" from the late '70's, and "Train 110" from the late '80's.

    All have some nice shots of vintage power and show some unseen operational aspects of the railroad. [IMG]

    I just picked up a Charles Smiley DVD, Tennessee Pass, 'from start to finish'. What a show! Not only Rio Grande/SP ops pre-1997, but also a GREAT show of Rio Grande Zephyr shots from the 70's, Donner pass shots with D&RGW power, A Kodachrome SP unit, branchline running with Geep 30's... The list goes on and on. Great video, I highly recommend it. http://www.trainmovies.com/gallery/tennessee.html

    I've got three favorites:
    Green Frog: BNSF Spokane to Portland, The Columbia River Route and BNSF tracks of the Goat, Vol.2.
    Trains on Location: Canada's Canyon Conquest, CN & CP in the Frasier and Thompson River Canyons.
    The Canadian video is a "must have" for ANY fan of Canadian mountain railroading.

    I added a new DVD to my library:
    Machines of Iron--Otto Perry's Moffat Route.

    INCREDIBLE footage of D&SL/DNW&P on Rollins Pass, rotaries, 2-6-6-0 mallets, opening ceremonies of Moffat Tunnel, Rio Grande big steam--3600's, early diesels, lots of 4-8-4's and Mountain-types, plenty of pasenger action, the most modern stuff is a GP30 set... ...When they were new!
    I HIGHLY recommend this vid to any 'Grande nut, or any steam junkie. The footage of ops on Rollins Pass is very, very rare, and priceless.

    A couple more Machines of Iron vids:
    Southern Pacific AC's
    Southern Pacific

    Both on Tennessee Pass in their final days, these vids portray the biggest and best engines with which Espee tackled its toughest division. Great footage, and footage of the last ever eastbound out of Minturn. I highly recommend these!

    Both VHS are available or a a 2-dvd set:
