My wife bought me a Lifelike GP-38 set for Christmas. It came with a powered unit, a dummy, and a caboose. Oh yeah- she got it with a real paint job too..... nice blue and yellow..... What a difference! I've been running the little Bachmann 0-6-0 around for so long, how nice it is to have something that works so smooth. It has made me do all kinds of work to my layout. Today, I decided to go get a selector and wire a second cab in... Lucky I thought about that awhile back and isolated a few blocks. Now, if I could only remember to throw the turnouts before going through them....
Don't feel bad about going through the turnouts. One of the guys in my club is a CSX engineer, and he did it twice last thursday night during an OPS session at club D
if you like the way the lifelike gp-38 runs you should try there gp-20 or E's or anything from Atlas. it will really open your eye's. not to knock the gp-38, I have a couple of them also, but compared to the one's I mentioned they are only average.
