Hi there! Finally joining Trainboard! Some of you may know me via AZL Forum or the French one "us-leforum.eu" As I wrote in my new member introduction, I'm in Z scale for 18 years now. After several layout trials, starting with Marklin, MTL tracks, etc, etc, I finally started my home layout ....4years ago.... and the first meters of rails are done (using Fast track)! I can start playing slowly with my locos It is a "L" shape layout, 4.5m by 2.2 m with a minimum radius of about 17inches. It is DCC. My personal project is set up, and I was looking for structures....but couldn't find enough choice. So... in the mid time...last October actually.... I decided to start a new line of Z scale models. I now produce Z structures , from the early 1900 to the 50-60s. Most buildings fit the modern time as some of them are still present. I get inspired from real historical American buildings, my first project was the Passenger Depot in Salt Lake City, then I did several more buildings (freight depot, small station, and modular city and down town buildings) You can have a look directly on my website https://zandusmodels.wordpress.com, and do not hesitate to share your wishes as I try to fill a gap in Z structures. There was a big lack of city buildings and I will continu designing more, at least one every 2 months, sometimes more like in March with 7 new buildings, sometimes less like now! Taking a small break! I'll make trackside structures, small and larger ones, detailing etc. Here is a sample of my work Hope you enjoy! I'll present my layout later on on another tread ++ Charlie
Oh, forgot to mention, I've been working on a AZL GP7 front pilot that can receive a MTL coupler #905, without glue or screw. Just need to shorten the coupler body It works fine! ..and some other detailing...a water tank, a board with about 37 diverse roof detailing, small and large billboards... ++charlie
Hi, Thanks And yes I do all the job, research, design, printing, selling I'm free to draw whatever come to my mind Charlie
All Outstanding! great work! I have used and outside printing service to print what I wanted! But can be pricy. I did a set of building like your but not as detailed! keep up the great! I also don't sell STL files either But I'm not a professional designer! I have trained myself with a 3D program. good luck and waiting to see more.
Hi there! I've been busy with other work lately. I'm now preparing the next models. First, I will make a series of backdrop buildings. It will consist of 4 backdrop industries buildings, of course inspired by real ones and in different regions: -A creamery company bldg -A Meat packing building with platform -2 brewery building (a depot with platform and a bottling bldg.) They will be between approx. 15 to 30 cm long (one or two of them could be modular with possible extensions). Depth will be around 3-4 cm to be used as a backdrop. Release date is not fixed, probably the first one by the end of the month, then one every 2 weeks. Hope you'll like Charlie
Great. Having lived in NYC I loved the Flat Iron building most, I never imagined a train running past it but I do now! Take a look at the train station in downtown San Diego for a Southwest feel. And with the beautiful detail you are getting maybe something from the Louis Sullivan period from Chicago or New York's Grand Central Station Of course we want to keep you busy!
Thanks Do not hesitate to post pictures of these, it may already be on my list, otherwise it could give me other ideas of stuff you need Charlie
I will be interested in the creamery Building! I have done several Borden's models! Can't wait to see them!
Hi You may then be happy as it is the first that will be released. I have to say I'm done with the design, tomorrow I'll do the printing test and drawings Charlie
Hi there, Here's the first industry building of the backdrop series. Inspired by a creamery company bldg in Ohio and a milk-traffic trackside structure. More details on my web page Charlie
Hi there, My last demand was a hotel from Union Pacific in Salt Lake City. The structure is now ready for selling. I'll now get back on the backdrop structure mentioned previously Charlie
