Here are the four pieces I did in MEC colors. Everything was done following protoype photos. I am off to "N" land again! Clint [ April 02, 2006, 11:37 AM: Message edited by: C. Giustra ]
Clint, those look fantstic. Do you have any of the MEC 40' gondolas from MTL. Are those accurate? The 40' gon is out of production now since the mold broke. Randy
Randy, I have seen the MEC gondolas. I just saw one on Ebay that went for $14+/-. According to my sources the MEC did have 40' gons, but I have never seen one. Once again guys, thanks for the praise. I really enjoy this hobby. I fear that I will be heading to larger scales as I age, though. Clint
Way Too Cool! Awesome! Wait till I show these photos to my fiance! She'll have me repainting soon! Great Paint jobs! Tim
Tim, Is your finace from MEC country or BAR country? A "Maine Products" car would be pretty awesome, too. Randy
Man I could go for a red white and blue Plug door potato car! http://www.toltecimages.com/trains/later%20images/3573.jpg A simple cube of styrene could serve as the underframe mounted heater.
That is one of the cleanest jobs of painting I have seen done in Z! Excellent work Clint! I don't know much about the MEC, but I was wondering if it is a successor road to B&M? I'm a bit of a wood caboose freak myself, and built a couple N Scale B&M cabooses, and I have these slated to be shrunk to Z: B&M Narrow Monitor Buggy, sold to Sanford & Eastern: B&M 30' Laconia Built shorty's: Mostly for my own caboose collection, but I will probably make them into a kit down the road. -Robert
Robert, B&M and MEC (as well as BAR) were all neighboring roads. The remnants of both B&M and MEC are now part of Guilford Rail System (well mostly. Some was abandoned and part of MEC is now the state owned track and Morris & Essex run Maine Eastern). Randy
I have listed this set on Ebay and in the Yellow Forum. Hope it finds a nice home. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6048646964 Clint
Wow, I missed the "for sale" part when you first posted this. If only I had more money right now. Might have to look anyway. Randy
