Chuck, use the sideframes from an Atlas SD35. They snap right on to the Kato gear box (I've been modifying them to high brake cylinder flexi-coils) and saves having to but the complete truck. Also, the original Kato SD7/9 mechanism truck sideframes should do the same and may still be available from Atlas.

I had a spare set of the Kato made ones and they snapped right on. By the way, I love your SOO SD40-2's. I wish I had seen your write up before I did mine; I would have made a few detail modifications like you did. I may go back and add a few!
