    How can you do that to a MoPac unit lol. actually looking forward to watching your progress on this, make sure you open a new topic so we can follow your progress.

    Chuck, use the sideframes from an Atlas SD35. They snap right on to the Kato gear box (I've been modifying them to high brake cylinder flexi-coils) and saves having to but the complete truck.
    Also, the original Kato SD7/9 mechanism truck sideframes should do the same and may still be available from Atlas.

    By the way, I love your SOO SD40-2's. I wish I had seen your write up before I did mine; I would have made a few detail modifications like you did. I may go back and add a few!
