    starting my first HO kitbash.

This kit started as a OO 4mm british 2 axle brakevan and I am converting it to an HO 3.5mm American(or British) 4 axle waycar.

Only problem: can I get away with using rungs for the steps: I don't really entertain the idea of installing caboose style steps.

the car also has a curious configuration, I shall get the pics later when I find a camera.

I don't know what the prototype looks like. Do you have pictures?

Good luck with the kitbash. The first cut is the hardest. Then after that you just grab the dremel and let 'er rip. just keep some filler putty handy [IMG]

Well, as you can see from the pics, I have modified the original frame by cutting off the ends, and then flipping them 180 degrees. This kit had coupler kingpins the size of a perfect truck mount.

I then had to shave the cross members to a 45 degree angle to provide ample clearence.

Now comes the problems: On Deck!
The nice little platforms on either end do not have direct easy access from the cab, and so I might need to put longer rung on to provide room to get onto that spot. Any suggestions?
