Hi Lorne, I think you have an improved version here. For operations I think you will have plenty to do. Are you planning on using the TT to run through to get to the perpendicular yard on the right? A couple more switches to add a running rail around your TT and between the edge would nice if you can't use the TT as a running track. Greg Elems
Whoooie! Finally downloaded Atlas RTS for trackplanning. Still learning how to use it, but I arleady have a new and deep respect for some of the plans I've seen posted on TrainBoard created with RTS, including yours Lorne. I still like your very first posted plan the most, probably cause it has a little less track, and because the tracks are more flowing and not parallel to the edges of the sections. But I'm certainly no expert on yards (yet, LOL) - I guess I like the first plan more for aesthetic reasons. And it has more room for structures too. Okay, enough outta me, back to studying how to make RTS do what I want it to do.
Looks like most of the responces I've gotten favor the first one but with a few changes. I drew up another sketch...yes, sketch...all hand drawn except for the words, but for some reason I can't upload it for you. I'm hoping to get it posted tomorrow.
