    Hello everyone!

Can anyone recommend what type of engines and manufacturers are appropiate for this particular layout? I am more into modern or diesel type engines, but steam is also welcomed :D

The reason I ask is because I've just purchased a KATO SD90MAC and this baby is too long for some of the curves in this particular layout :( besides, I new it would not look right, but this baby is a beauty so that was one of the purchasing factors.

Currently I have a couple of ATLAS SD60s, but these seem to be a bit to big for some of the curves. My B23-7 from Atlas is the only one that seems to handle the tighter curves ok.

Prefer locos made by ATLAS or KATO :D

    Thanks for the help!

GP7s, GP30s, GP35s and GP38s would work really well on tight curves. Actually, any four-axle locomotive (switcher or road engine) would do the trick. Kato's RS2 and RSC2 (yes, six-axle, but could fit in here) are also useful.
I have 12-inch radius curves on my layout, and I'm running four-axle engines.

    Thanks for your reply FRISCOBOB!

I was looking at some KATO RS2s today :D , but the guys at the shop were not too helpful when I asked what kind of decoder would fit in them :( .
Can you advise and is it hard to install one? :(

Thanks a lot for your help!

Digitrax's DN148K is made to replace the light board in the Kato RS-2/RSC-2.
