Recently I decided to design some N scale code 55 rail to possibly use for guard rails in N scale crossings I was going to make as they are tricky to make in the center of the crossing along with the isolation gaps that have to be cut in them. Since I had the rail designed I went ahead and designed a short section of track using ME's code 55 track as an example and posted the results on one of the train boards. Then someone suggested that it could be used as an end of track section. With that in mind I looked at different variations of end of track sections and copied off of a couple different ones I saw and came up with the following. The bottom section of track looks wider but isn't. It is just the results of the camera on wide angle. Also it is one of the original sections I designed without tie plates. I added them to the end of track section which is also shown. I'll have the files up soon on my thingivers.com account here .... https://www.thingiverse.com/sumner/designs Sumner
Looks like you've really got that Ender dialed in - are you still using the stock .04mm nozzle on that? The print quality looks great! (and it's a cool model as well) Cheers -Mike
Yep, haven't got around to trying a smaller nozzle although I bought some. I just print on the highest quality in Cura and try and keep the bed level, Sumner
A couple more pictures with the tracks joined. I would still glue both down and feel you wouldn't actually need to use the rail joiners with them glued down. They align well .... Sumner
Very nice! Could use about 6 of them. Or something similar, for the HCD layout I’m working on. Or should be! Gotta clear access to it at some point!
