Anyone willing to produce 4 bay trinity DDG hoppers for me in N scale? All I really need is the car body, and if I had the equipment I'd do it myself... I can add trucks, ladders, hatches and other details, right now I just need the main car body shape... Thanks! here is the car info: http://trinityrailcar.com/railcars/hopper/pdfs/hopper_6351.pdf R.S.
I don't keep up with modern freight cars but is there nothing being produced out there that is close enough to kit bash for these cars? I always found that as soon as I finished such a project, someone announced they were going to make them ready to run. mg:
I've thought about ripping apart the 3 bays Intermoutain makes, but I'm not sure I have the heart to do that to such a nice model... Then I thought about maybe taking a 4 bay atlas hopper and making grain service shutes for it, but don't think they will fit very well, there isn't alot of room on that bottom side of those 4 bays... Man, I've been reading too many posts by Pete or NPBill. I read the title to this thread and said "Cool, now which one of them has done a Spruance or a Burke....." Spruance or Burke refering to classes of Guided Missile Destroyers DDG Kevin
It would be nice to have a crystal ball and find out if and when someone will produce this car. If there are a lot of them out there in service, you would think there would be a market for a model. Calling IM, MT and Atlas. Are you out there?
Including me! Hey, a cargo ship, as I pointed out on the other thread, is the equivalent of a 100-car freight of 70-ton cars!
I would really like to see this car. Since we have now seen trains of them on both the UP & BNSF through Vaughn, I need them to model current operations!
