It must have taken a bit of time to move all those modules outside, carefully. And a bit awe inspiring to stand back and just admire your work! I see you are getting some help. Ha ha. Borrowed some supervision from John Moore?
Bruce, impressive! I cannot wait to see what your water looks like, if level of detail is same as your roads, it will be great. Please try and post some pics of the entire layout. You are a master at this. Really great modeling and a great way to show others what can be done in N t-trak. later, Craig
Thanks guys... I've really enjoyed building these and 'getting into' the T-Trak (for the most part)... until I saw the reaction to T-Trak at shows, I was very 'underwhelmed' with the concept (being somewhat of a scale model 'snob', I was disappointed with the NTrak 3 track main standard, and really wanted, and still want, to get into a FreeMo group) It was only a year ago, last June, on a trip back to Austin to see my friends back there and participate in an Ntrak setup, did I see T-Trak in action. There was no denying the 'draw' at the show... I'm not sure how the creek will progress, but I have in mind a slow moving , somewhat muddy creek, the creek bank lined with bushes and trees. I've already modified some Chooch stone abutments to fit the girder bridge... Bruce
Bruce, Woodland Scenics has some canoes which can be used on lakes and creeks. Consider when you make your creek. later, Craig
did a little bit more scenery on the team track...I wanted to replicate the overgrown aspect of the team track compared to the mainlines
Bruce, your shelter needs some picnic tables for the produce to sit on. RS Lasers has them in their N detail section. Great looking gravel into ground cover. Keep up the great work. later, Craig
Craig, thanks...I've been looking for 'fruit stand' related products...I think your suggestion is the best as this is seems to be turning into an 'impromptu' fruit/vegetable stand as opposed to a purpose built structure...I think picnic tables would be a good choice. Model Tech studios has a few products (fruit and vegetable bins-marked) but they seem too 'grocery store' ... as suggested by someone else, Woodland Scenics offers a neat mini-scene with fruit -vegetable crates, along with potato/onion sacks...loose and posed on a bench table... Bruce
Not certain that it's N scale, but ShapeWays has some orchard and produce related items available. But now that I think about it, it must be N scale, because I don't really look at HO there. Just another possible resource.
Bruce, good foundation, did you have fun? Did the crowd like what they saw? I hope that the same answer YES applies to both. Looking good, have fun, later, Craig
VERY successful setup!....lots of interest and lots of recruits to the group!....the layout performed flawlessly (building to standard makes all the difference), and we were invited to two more shows with guarantees of even more area/space. I'll post videos later this week. Bruce
Were your recruits already in the hobby? Or perhaps you got a few folks to jump and start model railroading?
working on a few detail/structure items... Walthers Cornerstone Water Tower, with some photo-etched ladder added... and a few of the Blair Line billboard kits for the highway along the SWARMTrak T-Trak modules... Bruce
cranked out another Blair Line billboard for this stretch of highway...this item actually came with the "Ernie's Service Station" although Dale offers it separately... as I affix these and photograph them, I get challenged to complete the scene with details...road signs, guardrails, fence posts, bushes, and trees...and actual static grass, of course. this is how the scene would look to a driver, crossing the tracks and heading for the highway T-junction...photos, such as these allow me to 'see' what needs to be done to bring more realism to the scene...
