Spent the day working on NTrak modules. Painted and detailed some of the roads, track and wiring is all done and vetted, it is scenery time!
Prairie Shadows bulkhead flatcars with deck timbers repainted, paint touch-ups after ladder modifications (on BCIT cars), and weathering: Window glass installed in work cars BCOL 6504, BCOL 6506 and BCOL 6508: Decals are next. Tim
This is my first time posting pictures so I hope I don't mess it up. I have been a site member for a long time but I am more of a lurker that a chatterbox. Anyway on my workbench today, I had two DPM kits that I started about ten years ago and used as mock ups in a large town scene. I decided that it was about time to finish them. So I spent a few hours today at the bench painting them. Painting the windows is very time consuming! I haven't decided yet how I want to do the interiors. But I will update my progress!
Thank you. It occurred to me that matching colors on the doors would be wrong. I figure that the store is a different tenant than the upstairs!
Working on some Semis Still need mirrors on the COE Pete 4 tractors that still need detail painting Mack Rawhide with cattle trailer, and COE Kenworth with spread axle flatbed Pete 359 needs mirrors And finally. The Rubber Duck Truck.
Hello all.... I just received Bill Denton's (Skytop Models) BEAUTIFUL castings of ATSF's 64' smoothside semi-lightweight baggage cars! If I thought his previous castings were great, these are even superior to those! I will be documenting the builds very soon in a running post with pics... 2 in gray with black roofs and aluminum undersides, and 1 in overall aluminum. ~Bruce
Scott Nice paint jobs on those two buildings. The one on the right is a cut down Hilltowne Hotel, isn't it? Jim
Bruce, I think it's safe to say we will be looking forward to the fine work and pictures you provide. Looking forward to it.
Getting ready to break out the detail parts and paint for a pair of GP35s going into MRL. Also need to paint a set of handrails for a BNSF dash 9 in H1.
Going to start prepping the newest from Bill (Skytop Models)... 64' ATSF Smoothside semi-lightweight baggage-express cars...a fixture in the head end consists of ATSF passenger and mail trains from '56 til Amtrak. Beautiful castings, underbody detail already in place, dimples for grabs...judt need to add steps , grabs, paint and lettering. Forgive the quick pics...just had to take some pics immediately upon arrival! ~Bruce
It's about time we get some AT&SF baggage cars. Looks like the challenge is in painting, detailing and lettering. Standing by to follow this thread.
Is the purple a kitbash? The tag axle is a neat touch I don't recall seeing often modelled, but I'd suggest it might go better with a gooseneck trailer.
Yeah it's a kitbash, after I bashed the back end of it when I dropped it . I had an extra Pete frame so I lengthened and added the tag axle. And up here in PAC North West many semis have tag axles since our weight limits are much higher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
