Nail Brothers Salvage Here is our latest project, from Chris Tatarian and myself, Nail Brothers Salvage. This is what we call a big box kit, because it includes most of what you need to build a detailed and cluttered scene. We wanted to make a kit that has a generous supply of details, so Chris made a bunch of resin cast detail piles. We also wanted to make the structure look beat up an old, so we used the laser to weather knot holes, split and broken boards, and tar paper roll roofing that was pre-worn. This is a diorama base, but the kit includes fencing with a base that can be used as either a template to poke holes for mounting your fence, or just glue the base on then glue down the fence in the pattern you want.
To help with the illusion of broken out boards, we applied tar paper interiors so you see the tarpaper where the boards are broken out. We only made 30 kits, but if there is enough demand, we can make more. It was really fun to build, and although this is Chris's model, I am going to build one for myself!
Robert, its going to be a nice kit. Its something the scale needs, a industry. Now there is a reason to run junk trains.
This is what we are calling a big box kit, because it includes most of what the modeler needs to build a detailed and cluttered scene. We produced 5 custom resin junk pile castings, a flatbed truck, and a couple other castings, decals, and 2 sheets of full color printed signs sign. We also include figures, plastic, metal and laser cut wood details, 170 scale feet of fence, and 3 small bags of ground cover material, so everything is included to build a really convincing scene. The structure was designed to look beat up an old, so we used the laser to weather knot holes, split and broken boards, and tar paper roll roofing that looks well worn. To help with the illusion of broken out boards, we applied tar paper interiors so you see the tar paper where the boards are broken out. The windows, roof and trim are peel and stick, so construction goes easy. We had to set the MSRP at $69.99 to cover all the details and extra stuff included. Anthony at Z Scale Monster will be handling them.
Footprint of Nail Bros. Which one are you referring to the actual picture shown or the kit itself? Chris-
Nail Brothers Salvage Yard footprint of yard Torsja- The footprint for Nail Brothers Salvage yard is Approx. 9 sq. inches. I hope this answers your question? Chris-
Hi Chris, Yes like in the photos and from fence to fence, it would help with the measurements X and Y. Is it 1x9, 1,5x6 or 2x3?
2.75" x 4.4" or 70mm x 112mm, but you can arrange the fences however you desire, around the main structure of 1.2" x 3.45" or 30mm x 84mm.
