    So is the single track a branch line? Or? That name mentioned for where it leads is not familiar to me.

    The single track line is the CSX Mon Subdivision. The CSX terminus for that Subdivision is Newell, PA, the line continues on from Newell as a NS line that serves a number of coal mines in Southwest Pennsylvania. Along the Monongahela River, CSX tracks occupy the West Bank and NS track occupy the East Bank. The NS operates a number of mine runs from Newell to the various coal mines to load trains and return them to Newell for CSX furtherance. NS also has their own routes for coal that is mined in Southwest PA.
