Two short movies I shot at exhibitions. A German narrow gauge layout. It depicts the typical narrow gauge lines at peat factories, brick factories and quarries in Europe. I don't know who the builder is. Great videos! The builder of the first layout is Marcel Ackle, who's long been one of my favorite modelmakers. He's got a website : Feldbahn-Modellbau Regards, Cody
Thanks for the name of the builder: I will add his name and website. Here a movie of the prototype, in this case the trains at a former peat factory in the northeast of our country: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29btKN5Hcec"]YouTube - Industrieel Smalspoor Museum, Erica[/ame]
Thank you for sharing it. I wonder about the Dutch On30...I can recall a story in an old Gazette about a group of Dutch modelers whom had built a cool trio of modules of Colorado in HOn3.
There are a lot of Dutch modellers with American narrow gauge layouts these days: http://www.lostcreek.nl/ http://shadow-creek.msc-emmen.eu/joomla/images/meeting/index.html http://home.deds.nl/~ronald43/ and for the people who can't read Dutch, this is a shortcut: http://home.deds.nl/~ronald43/html/galerie_hw.html) http://www.forkscreekyard.nl/
Thieu, Thanks for the additional links. I know several of those quite well, but there are a few I have not seen.
At the most recent great exhibition (Rail 2009), I was lucky to operate the Forks Creek Yard. Was the first time for me running O gauge. The second link is of a layout in a garage. I am planning to visit this layout with some friends.
I am most familiar with the Lost Creek layout as I have been studying it for inspiration in a small mining layout I am going to build while I await more space for my full-sized C & S layout. It is a simple plan that looks like a lot of fun to operate...AND they managed to get DCC/sound in those Porters...my hat is off to them for that
One of the greatest exhibition layouts was the layout of the Slim Gauge Guild. Unfortunately, they have demolished this great layout because the owner moved.
Yesterday I visited this layout: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgF4v2SEZ_E"]YouTube - Kosmos Timber Company[/ame]
I have a simple editing program these days. So, I combined the short movies into one longer movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU-7sUuOgk8
