Got my shipment of stuff yesterday. Ended up with data Only idler flats though.
Something I wasn't expecting. But something I can easily correct.
But first, does anyone know what decals/dry transfers I'll need to letter
4 Rio Grande narrow gauge idler flats??
Something I think I can actually look forward to doing.
Gives me satisfaction of knowing I semi completed a few cars in my collection!
    Any information appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Keith,
I'm probably the last person who should be answering your query, but since I bought A Century +10 DRGW NG Freight Cars 2nd Ed for christmas I thought I'd look this up.

I too want to depict the NG system of DRG/W as a portion of the whole, albeit without changing scales to do so.

The illustrated idler flats being 30' recovered boxcars or stock cars there is minimal signage. Left hand side centered over trucks is the road name initials followed by number; centered on car sides is Dim data (2 small rows) and right hand side over inner wheelset, the Builders data- in this case 'Rebuilt' over (2nd row) ALA #-## and varying periods depending on the cars you are depicting.

As to decals, I've just bought all of the Microscale Steam and Diesel sets and intend using whatever is appropriate, in this case white only Gothic stencil, no Flying Logos here!

    Trust this helps a bit,
    regards

    Shouldn't be too bad.
As the cars I have are unlettered, but contain the
dimensional data. So, lettering and car numbers are all I'm gonna need.

Give us some pics Keith when done.
What brand of model are they?
Some time ago I was gonna punt for many of the Bachmann 1800 series Old Time cars as a batch of NG style/ size cars on auctions but chickened out as I saw costs increasing. Since everything would have been reduced to basic black, mineral red or reefer 'Orange' didn't seem such a big deal.
I've since discovered the resin cast cars (Fine N scale?) would be a better if more expensive option,
    regards
    dave
